black and white

I've always preferred black and white pictures over colored.  It just seems to me that they're more "serious" and deeper.  B/W pictures always grab my attention because it feels like each picture is telling a silent, moving story.  A richer, deeper story than colored pictures could convey.  I always become somber when scrolling black and white photos, because they seem to just... pause time.

Why do you like b/w pictures?

  1. I, too, am a lover of black and white.
I think part of why that is because it takes me back to simpler time (like the times when there were only black and white photos). It is deeper, as well, like you said. The fact that it's black and white does make you have to stop and process it for a bit, while if it were in color everything is already spelled out for you and there is not much left for your brain to think about and soak in.

I love the top and last picture - so lovely!

  3. I always prefer black and white shots over color... I think this quote sums up why: "When you photograph people in color, you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in Black and white, you photograph their souls." ~Ted Grant
